The Virginia Military Preservation Association (VMPA) is an organization of militaria and vehicle collectors, as well as re-enactors and amateur historians, dedicated to preserving our nation's military heritage. As such, we spend many hours collecting and restoring items to use in public displays, parades, school talks, and similar events. To continue our work, we depend on people like you to support us, either by donating items for displays, contributing funds to offset some of our costs (for example, transporting vehicles to and from events on trailers or obtaining parts for vehicles no longer produced), and volunteering your time to help us.

Donate

VMPA is looking for donation of the following items:
  • Military uniforms and uniform items - all branches of service and any time period
  • Military equipment, such as: packs, belts, canteens, etc. - all branches of service and any time period
  • Military medals and awards
  • Military weapons, guns and parts for them
  • Military vehicles and vehicle parts
  • Related Books, manuals, documents, and other paper items

In addition, we are currently looking specifically for the following items related to World War I Liberty Trucks to help us with the restoration of a newly acquired Liberty Truck. If you have any of these items and would be willing to sell, trade, or just pass along, please contact Adrian Winget at jhooah@hotmail.com

  • Drawings of plans of the bed and cab
  • Manuals
  • Photos of WWI Liberty Trucks, period or restorations
  • Spare parts

If you have any of these things and wish to part with them, or you know of anyone who has those items and would like to donate them to an organization that will put them to good, educational use, please contact us via the contact information on the "About Us" page.

We are also looking for monetary donations to help us finance the preservation and restoration of military collectibles and vehicles, as well as the cost of presenting them to the public at various events. Such costs include gas to drive vehicles to and from event, general vehicle upkeep, transportation of non-running vehicles on trailers, and the like.

Volunteer

VMPA also needs and welcomes volunteers to help us restore and maintain military vehicles, weaponry, and other equipment, and present these items to the public. We are looking for people with or without previous experience who would like to "get their hands dirty" and help with maintenance and restoration, driving vehicles at events, and doing various other tasks.

If you are interested in volunteering your time (and, if applicable, your knowledge and experience), please contact us through the "About Us" page to get started.
